The Hadith

1. The Prophet Muhammad said, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him: Your Heaven lies under the feet of your mother (Ahmad, Nasai).

2. Mother’s status is much higher than father’s as stated in one of the hadiths of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW): Once a man came to the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and said: “O Messenger of Allah! Who from amongst mankind warrants the best companionship from me?”He replied: “Your mother.” The man asked: “Then who?” So He (PBUH) replied: “Your mother.” The man then asked: “Then who?” So the Prophet (PBUH) replied again: “Your mother.” The man then asked: “Then who?” So He (SAW) replied: “Then your father.” (Bukhari)

Certainly, here's the value of mothers in Islam:

1. Highest Status: Islam places mothers on a pedestal, emphasizing their unparalleled status and importance. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) specifically highlighted the elevated position of mothers, stating that paradise lies at the feet of mothers, emphasizing the utmost respect and honor they deserve.

2. Source of Mercy and Love: The relationship between a mother and her child is regarded as a reflection of Allah's mercy and love for His creation. A mother's care, affection, and sacrifices symbolize the divine qualities of compassion and nurturing.

3. Foundation of the Family: Mothers serve as the cornerstone of the family structure in Islam. Their role in raising righteous and morally upright children is crucial for the well-being and stability of society.

4. Unconditional Love and Sacrifice: A mother's love knows no bounds in Islam. From carrying the child in her womb for nine months to enduring the pains of childbirth and making countless sacrifices for her child's well-being, a mother's love is unparalleled and unmatched.

5. Divine Reward: Islam promises immense rewards for those who honor and cherish their mothers. Obeying and respecting one's mother is considered a virtuous deed that brings blessings and closeness to Allah.

In essence, mothers hold a sacred and revered position in Islam, and their value cannot be overstated. They are revered for their love, compassion, and selflessness, and their contributions to the family and society are deeply cherished and celebrated in Islamic teachings.
